Game Engineer

MobLab is seeking a Game Engineer with experience in game development platforms like Cocos2d-x, Cocos Creator, and/or Unity to help build the next generation of education and assessment games for our online platform and mobile apps.


As a game engineer, you will work on a small team of developers, content creators, and designers to develop mini games from start to finish. You will be expected to learn about our current platform and methodologies quickly and deliver quality results. We love creativity and are always encouraging our engineers to think critically and find creative solutions to emerging challenges.

Located in beautiful Pasadena, MobLab is an educational technology startup focused on developing interactive behavioral games and their applications, especially in the education domain. Our experimental platform has been in thousands of classrooms around the world, from high school to higher education to business schools, to help students learn social and economic interactions through hands-on and immersive learning.   • Bachelor’s or MS degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 2-3 years of experience with a game platform like Cocos or Unity
  • At least 2-3 years of experience with Javascript
  • Quality first mindset
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with websockets
  • Experience with game architecture
  • Knowledge of how 2D and 3D animations perform differently
  • Experience with TypeScript
